Eden Diodati Luxury Sustainable Jewellery With A Philanthropic Purpose
Fashion is an industry in the spotlight over issues around sustainability with regards to fast and throwaway fashion. And this concern extends to accessories. Eden Diodati is a luxury jewellery brand that is addressing the need for sustainability within the fashion industry.
Eden Diodati brings together the exceptional skills of Italian and Rwanda craftsmanship to create stunning jewellery collections that uphold the company’s philanthropic ethos. Using precious metals such as 24k gold the jewellery pieces are handmade in Italy and are adorned with shimmering Swarovski crystals, that are hand beaded by a women’s social cooperative in Rwanda.
The cooperative provides work for more than 5,000 widows and orphans who are survivors of the Rwandan genocide, and by working with them Eden Diodati founder Jennifer Ewah is working to challenge the pre-conceptions of ‘Made in Africa’. Ancient artisanal techniques are modernised.
Each piece carries within it the stories of strength and resilience of the women involved in its creation, going beyond covetable luxury to embrace sustainable design with a philanthropic purpose at its core.
