Jewellery: Kirsten Goss Luscious Gemstone Jewels

I first came across Kirsten Goss’ creations five or so years back, the gem-laden pieces in mouthwatering colour combinations captured my imagination and I have been an admirer of Kirsten’s work ever since. Often describing her creations as ‘wee bits of art’ for independent and confident women, Kirsten studied jewellery design and gemmology in South Africa before journeying to the UK, where after working for the likes of Erickson Beamon took the plunge and set up her own label in 2002 followed by the Kirsten Goss Boutique in Kensington, London in 2005.  Highlights of her career so far have included the design of a stunning mesh and crystal skirt for Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker.

Intending for her creations to be worn and not hidden away for a ‘special occasion’ as is so often the case with jewellery box treasures, Kirsten Goss is not one to follow trends instead experimenting and exploring where her heart leads her and thereby creating pieces that can be worn for years to come. The jewellery is bespoke or available in limited edition collections to ensure exclusivity and to keep it desirable. Having firmly established her presence amongst a discerning international clientele, Kirsten has returned home to Durban, South Africa where her production studio is now based. All the jewellery is handcrafted to uphold the commitment to high quality with the company also employing the talents of local goldsmiths, what gives the jewellery a distinctive edge is the freeform shapes of the hand cut metal. Kirsten Goss was recently featured on CNN giving viewers an insight into the company.
