Moyi Magazine Issue 5 Celebrates Colour-Filled Homes

The latest edition of Moyi Magazine is out, and firstly what a stunning cover! Apt for our times the colourful cover features artist and activist Malene Barnett founder of Malene B Studio and Black Artists + Designers Guild (BADGuild). This issue celebrates the colour-filled homes of Malene in New York and textile designer Eva Sonaike in London. As a contributing editor for Moyi magazine, I had the pleasure of directing the photoshoot for Eva’s gorgeous, colour and plant-filled home.

Photoshoots are long days of trying to get the perfect shots and generous with her time and willingness to accommodate our needs Eva’s warm, welcoming personality is reflected throughout her home. Eva’s home is a story of her creative journey, love of design, a celebration of her heritage. Each decorative item is carefully chosen for its meaning and reflects the changes in her and her family’s life. And as expected as a textile designer textiles play a significant role throughout Eva’s interior design aesthetic. Get the issue to see and read the full feature.

Helping to shine the spotlight on African designers I also curated several shopping pages inspired by other features in the magazine.
