Luxury Handcrafted African Print Paper Notebooks

Looking to record thoughts and goals for the year ahead, for me the fresh pages of a brand new notebook always have the affect of optimism and promise, I can hardly wait to get stuck in, and this is the time of year when I inevitably end up accumulating an assortment of journals, diaries and notebooks from usually from gifts and giveaways. Stationery tends to be so visually stimulating that with so many designs to choose from it becomes tempting to collect them just because. These were the very thoughts I had when I came across an advert for Lovely Notebooks, a luxury range of handcrafted paper notebooks featuring vibrant colourful designs and bold African print textiles finished with a pretty satin ribbon tie to enclose your thoughts. As ‘lovely’ as the name suggests, the notebooks combine Ghanaian and European design influences and are designed and handcrafted by Carissa Abraham, a creative who sought for ways to bring together her love of fashion and stationery.

Lovely Notebooks
Born and raised in the East End of London, Carissa discovered a passion for textiles at a young age and this led to her studying screen printing. With her new found skills Carissa went on to launch a small collection of tote and clutch bags and after another fashion venture partnering with a fashion designer to create accessories started creating her distinctive notebooks.

The notebooks are currently available in four design collections: the Africa range covered in African print textiles and padded for that extra luxurious feel, the Signature range featuring custom hand printed designs, the Abstract range with its bold shapes and padded cover, and finally the Contemporary range covered in soft suede and available in a rich colour palette. Being individually created means that each notebook will be different, an exclusive one-off piece.
