Little Africa Paris An Alternative Cultural Guide to the City of Light
As its name suggests Little Africa Paris is a handy pocket guide that connects you to Paris’s thriving African culture and communities in Paris. The guide was created by Jacqueline Ngo Mpii who wanted to reveal and highlight the contributions Africans have made to the city, and country in the past and continue to do so in the present.
Of Cameroonian heritage, Jacqueline moved to France as a child. Years later on a trip to Paris, she wanted to also see what she calls ‘black Paris’ but found that not being on any tourist map she had to discover the ‘hidden gems’ for herself. Jacqueline founded Little Africa to create more guides exploring the African communities in other cities around the world.
Little Africa is located in the Goutte d’Or neighbourhood, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. Taking in the art, culture, food, fashion, music and lifestyle of this area and beyond Little Africa Paris is a guide for both locals and visitors, inviting you to take a detour from usual tourist paths and discover another side to the city, one that is vibrant, and thriving in its cultural diversity,.
