Geometric Patterned Ceramic Planters Laden with Meaning and Symbolism

Taking their name from the gold signature disc on the bottom of every pot, Gold Bottom is a limited-edition collection of striking geometric patterned ceramic pots. The Gold Bottom pots collections are inspired by local culture and the environment.

The first collection Gold Bottom released was called Filed of Gold, featuring monochromatic patterns inspired by symbolic and expressive elements in South African culture. 2018’s Namib collection drew inspiration from the Namib desert. Featuring a warm, rich colour palette spanning ivory to ochre to burnt orange the collection drew on the shades of sand, rock, and inland dunes

Gold Bottom was founded in 2017 by Nikki Hutchings a South African fashion industry professional turned entrepreneur. In what she refers to as ‘the golden lining that sits at the bottom of everything we do’ Nikki has sought to create statement pieces that reflect her ethos of upholding handmade with a respect towards people and the environment.
